Jan 2012: Joy filled New Year Greetings to everyone!
Hebrews 11.8
“By Faith Abraham when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went even though he did not know where he was going”.
As Oswald chamber says one of the most difficult questions to answer in Christian work is “what do you expect to do”. The only thing we know is that God knows what he is doing and we must seek his will in all things. We must also not be surprised when he works miracles in our lives when we surrender ourselves to him.
It is in this frame of mind that Open heart approaches a new year and a new beginning. On Sunday 29/1/12 we will have an event in the church to launch Open heart Ministry and all are welcome. We hope to see you at 6pm. We will eat a simple meal together followed by worship celebration and sharing the vision. (see drop-down menu)
It can be seen that Marcello has worked hard to establish links with many churches in lots of different countries with the main emphasis on Europe and the Middle East. We strongly believe that in these days churches will increasingly need to stand together in order to grow and flourish in a difficult world environment. This past year there have been notable connections made with churches in Portugal, Gera, (former Eastern Germany), Viskov (Czech Republic) and Turkey.
Marcelo’s diary is available on the website and we value your prayer support for all of these visits including new connections in Hanover, Marseille, Macedonia and the Balkans. Please pray for wisdom and resources but primarily that we will continually seek and obey the will of God. Many doors are opening but we need to know that we are following the path that the Lord has set before us.
Marcelo & Lee In Turkey for the Middle East Worship Conference.
Hi everyone. December 2011
Since openheart Scotland, there has been much to be grateful to God for. A period or a season of re-appraisal and adjustment has taken place, but the vision remains the same. The OpenGate school of language has been closed, but many doors in Europe have opened up. below is the latest news from openheart…
Marcello had just returned from Turkey where he together with Asaph Borba participated in a worship conference involving Christians from across the whole of Turkey. A number of young Christian converts with amazing testimonies were present and very keen to engage. At this conference contacts were also established with a church in Jordan and in Macedonia. Marcelo says;
“Once again we have shared the same vision that the Lord has placed in our hearts, “the streams will flow as one river “. It was a great time in Antalya, Turkey different streams from Brazil, USA, England, Belgium, Jordan, Macedonia, together with the Church in Turkey we saw one River ! Different languages but one heart for worship and Mission!
Before travelling to Turkey, Marcello has spent time in Portugal with a team from Brasa Church in Porte Alegre (Brasil) visiting three churches. As a result an Open Heart Conference in Lisbon is likely to take place during 2012. Gustavo Jalil (from Open Gate Church) has just returned from working with the youth at a church in Spain. This is his third visit and this time the youth were prepared before he arrived. Gustavo said, “I was amazed as I had spent much time with them over previous years, this year they had dance and dramas ready to go!”
Marcelo has also taken the opportunity to visit and strengthen the ties with two churches in Edinburgh where Open Gate have previously sent two pastors.

Our most recent Open Heart was in Scotland last May…. Once more, we were able to meet friends who have been walking with us throughout our journey. At Leith Baptist church we spent a weekend in the presence of God sharing gifts, talents and the desire to serve Him wherever He wanted us to go. Edinburgh is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world and we are already missing the fantastic time we had up there. We also recorded a DVD which certainly captured the wonderful atmosphere that we experienced during those days.
